Welcome to the Husky Taekwondo Club at the University of Washington.

Beginners & New Students via IMA class (Tuesday/Thursday 6-6:50PM, Mat Room A)
Beginners class (white belt class) is held in Mat Room A and runs from 6-6:50PM. This class is designed as an introduction to the sport of taekwondo. It is led by our head instructors, Jeremy and Jeanelle. The class will cover fundamentals of kicking, improving flexibility, and improving general fitness and strength.

Attire: please wear athletic clothing that you are comfortable to move in. No jewelry or accessories should be worn in practice (no watches, bracelets, smartwatches, etc..).

We encourage you to bring a water bottle to keep hydrated.

Club practice (Tuesday/Thursday 7-8:30PM, Mat Room B)
Club practice is for anyone ranked yellow belt or higher. Practices are focused on improving fundamentals of taekwondo such as footwork, kicking, punching, and strategy. Classes are led by instructors, Jeremy, Mark, Cat, and Anthony.

Attire: full dobok (uniform) is encouraged. No jewelry or accessories should be worn in practice (no watches, bracelets, smartwatches, etc).

Sparring Practice (Saturday 10AM-12PM, Mat Room B)
Saturday sparring practice is open to ranks yellow belt and higher. Practices are focused on application of techniques through sparring drills and live sparring. We also have a strength and conditioning component – expect a workout! Classes are lead by instructors, Jeremy, Mark, Cat, and Anthony.

Poomsae Practice (Saturday 12-2PM, Mat Room B) Knowing your form, or poomsae, is a requirement for everyone to test for their belts. This practice is open to all, and is focused on perfecting your form. Lead by our instructors Cat and Sungmin. 

Attire: uniforms are not required for Saturday practice. No jewelry or accessories should be worn in practice (no watches, bracelets, smartwatches, etc).

Equipment: bring full sparring gear – if you don’t have sparring gear, the club has equipment you can borrow.

Important to note: you will not be allowed to spar unless you have a mouthpiece. You can purchase a mouthpiece through the club or order one on Amazon.

Throughout the year, Husky Taekwondo participates in numerous social and competition events. Please be sure to follow our Facebook group, Husky Taekwondo Club, to stay up to date on all the news and activities.
