Pageant Outline
The Miss Greek Pageant is a philanthropy organized by the members of the Gamma Mu chapter of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at the University of Washington. This year, March 5, 2000, will mark the 14th annual Miss Greek Pageant and with your help, we hope to make this year's event the most successful to date and recognize all the women involved as outstanding contributors to the community in which they live.
The Miss Greek Pageant consists of sixteen representatives from local sororities competing to raise money for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center located right here in Seattle. They are scored on their fund raising efforts, a philanthropic address, a talent portion, and a fashion walk. These women will have worked very hard since early November to raise money for this event, and we want to help them in any way we can.
The program this year will be hosted most likely by channel 13 Fox's Leslie Miller. It starts with the girls being introduced during their fashion walk. Then proceeds to the talent portion of the event. This year girls are planning to sing, dance, and do skits from movies. From there we advance to their philanthropic address, in which each contestant answers what philanthropy means to them! We then break and tabulate the scores. Upon coming back the Vice-President of the Hutch will speak, we will present him with this year's donation, and then award the fundraising and talent winners. Leslie Miller will then announce our 5 finalists who will answer one of ten impromptu questions. After the questions there will be a five-minute intermission, followed by the crowning of Miss Greek 2000.
