Officer Meeting Minutes - Tuesday Oct 23rd
This Tuesday eve, your new officer crew came together to discuss pool sessions, equipment, trips and other club biz. The highlights of the evening's discussion are below:
Pool Sessions
This weekend's pool session will be lead by myself. Please meet at the UKC club room, which is on the lake side of the WAC, at 8:30am (not 7:30 as it says on the calendar!). If you'd like to practice rolls, bracing, stroke technique etc., come on down! The more folks the better because you can learn from one another.
Matt York, club treasurer and web shaman, will lead the pool session on Nov. 4th. Check the calendar to be sure of the time.
PAR-TAY!
We will be holding a club party/equipment repair party on Friday November 30th from 3:30 to 7:30pm. Food & merriment will be provided. Please make an effort to be there - a lot of little things need patching and the more helping hands, the better!
Whitewater safety
Kennet is making an effort to have a local company lead a whitewater kayak safety course. The price will be *greatly discounted* for UKC members.
Trips, roll sessions & anything else you'd like...
We have decided to organize ~ 3 beginner trips a quarter to get you guys out on the river and so you can become familiar with your officers & trip leaders. Beyond the beginner trips that we initiate, all other trips should be requested! To do so, you are encouraged to spam the UKC mailing list asking an officer and/or trip leader to organize a trip. (WW or Sea)
