New member sign-up and rescue Session, Friday 12 Oct
I'm planning to run a new-member sign up and rescue session this coming Friday from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. This is an opportunity to sign up with the club and perform the mandatory swim test, and/or to learn (or practice) performing self- and assisted-rescues.
Although the weather may not be great come friday, the lake is still pretty warm and you can always wear a wetsuit if you like. To go on any sea kayak trips away from Lake Washington you're required to have been to a rescue session within the past year.
Please RSVP to let me know how many people to expect, and if you just want to join or if you want to do the resue session too. Since sunset is around 6:30 pm, please make sure to show up on time to leave enough daylight for the rescue session.
You will get wet, so bring swimwear and a towel, and if you're signing up you'll need your university ID.
