Two $1,000 research grants will be awarded to an undergraduate and graduate student who are currently enrolled in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences at the University of Washington. These grants are based on merit and financial need with the intention that the funds are used for research activities and equipment purchases. The only requirement to apply is that you are a student in SEFS.

The grant application is available online here and is due no later than Sunday, May 6th 2018 at 11:59pm

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Please email with any questions.

Here is a brief summary of what the application packet should include. See the “Guidelines” and “Rubric” links above for a more detailed explanation:

1. Resume no longer than 2 pages. This resume should outline your relevant education, work history, achievements, volunteer work, but should exclude references.

2. Letter of recommendation from your advisor, committee member, or an influential faculty member. The author must email the letter to before 5:00 p.m. on May 7th 2018.

3. Current unofficial transcript.

4. Proposal for research not to exceed 3 pages, double-spaced (excluding works cited) that includes the information described under “Guidelines” and “Rubric”
