Carl L. Hossman Memorial Scholarship

The Carl L. Hossman Memorial Scholarship is an academic award for one University of Washington man who exemplifies the principles of outstanding scholarship, leadership, athletics and citizenship. The Scholarship is intended to promote the advancement of exemplary ethics and standards among the next generation of local businessmen and community leaders. The monetary value of the scholarship is for $4,500 paid to the recipient's student account at the University of Washington.

Requirements:

Applicants must be male high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors. Candidates should possess strong backgrounds in academics, athletics, leadership, and have an enterprising spirit. Although each characteristic is weighted equally, the final decision will heavily rely upon the overall character of the individual and their financial need. Scholarship recipients must apply the award towards tuition at the University of Washington.

Application:

Use the cooresponding application or design and create your own application. It doesn't need to be fancy; it only needs to include the pertinent information. Specifically, it must include grades, SAT and/or ACT scores, extra-curricular activities, hobbies, achievements, awards, the essay, your phone number & address, and any other pertinent information about you. The essay should address why you are applying for the scholarship and the reasons you believe you should be selected. The application is available here:

Deadline:

Completed applications must be postmarked by June 1. However, it is in your best interest and it is strongly encouraged that applications be sent as soon as possible.
