Rachel Sparks
Vice President, MMSA
UWSOM MSII
Originally from Colorado, I am now a resident of the wonderful state of Washington and a second-year medical student. Numerous members of my family have served in the military, which is probably where my interest in military medicine originated. Military medicine is unique and exciting in many ways, and my personal goal is to help our nation provide the best possible care for active duty troops, their families, our retirees and veterans.

President, MMSA
UWSOM MSIII
After graduating from a small high school in Idaho, I attended the University of Idaho where I received a B.S. in microbiology. Following graduation, I spent six months working in a research lab before enrolling at the UWSOM. My reasons for joining the Air Force are numerous, but primarily include service to my country, a great patient population, the ability to practice without the overhead of running an office, the opportunity to travel, and financial security. My training with the USAF includes four weeks of Commissioned Officer Training and three weeks at the School of Aerospace Medicine. I am currently a third year medical student, and I am considering urology as a specialty.
