Delta Tau Delta Ms. Greek Pageant Raises $80,000
Members of 15 campus sororities and the Gamma Mu Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity raised $80,000, over $20,000 from the previous year, for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Five months of hard work by the members of Delta Tau Delta and 15 campus sororities culminated in Sunday night's Ms. Greek Pageant in Meany Hall on the University of Washington campus. Hosted by Leslie Miller of Seattle's KCPQ 13 Television with local celebrities Steve Wilson (Almost Live), Andy Savage (KNDD 107.7), and John Curly (Evening Magazine) the event was an overall crowd pleaser. The winner, Lauren Danz of Sigma Kappa sorority, will represent the University of Washington Greek system in this summer's Seafair festivities.
Begun in 1986 by Delta Tau Delta member Christopher Chan and suffering a financial loss in it's first year, this year's donation to The Hutch exceeded all expectations and brings total donations over the last 14 years to an amazing $437,000. The members of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity would once again like to thank all the individual sororities who participated, the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center, and everyone else who helped to make this year's pageant so extremely successful.
Finally, extra special thanks to Ryan Spahr and John Gagnier, this year's chairmen, for all their hard work that made the Ms. Greek Pageant 2000 come together as such a resounding success.
Fraternally,
Jeremy Wilson
