About Me!
Hello my name is Luis Bravo! Welcome to StartUp! I am really excited to be one of your TA's for this program. I am a first generation student that has gone through my freshman year online. I have learned a lot in my one year of being here at UW and I am more than happy to pass on information and things that worked out well for me. I hope you guys are ready for this pre autumn course that will help you get ready for the quarter. As one of your TA's, I will make sure I will get you the help you need even when I can't be the one that can help you directly.
Advice!
When I first started here at UW through StartUp, I was really worried that I would not fit in well to the group. I wasn't very experienced with coding and things like that, but they did interest me a lot. I think that when you start off, you should really make sure you aren't comparing yourself to others. It's very important that you take the time to work on your own growth and don't expect yourself to be like everyone else. We are all starting from different points. What is important is that you get the most out of your work and allow yourself to grow and learn. I know that sometimes working on a computer can get really straining on the eyes so one physical reccomendation that I have is to try and get a pair of blue light filter glasses. It helps your eyes a lot and can prevent a lot of headaches. Additionally, you should ask any questions you may have for someone. If you aren't comfortable with sharing these questions out loud, you can definetely ask us directlly and we will help and get you an answer. I hope this was helpful to you and like I said, you can always ask me your questions!
