What is Ultimate?
Ultimate, also known as Ultimate Frisbee, is a fast-paced team-sport played by two teams of seven players.
The object of the game is to advance the disc, also known as a Frisbee, up the field and into the end zone
for a score. It has been described as a field sport that combines the nonstop foot speed and cutting of soccer,
the aerial beauty of basketball, and the scoring excitement of football. On offense, everyone is a quarterback
and everyone is a receiver.

Wow. What if I suck?
During fall quarter and early winter, we welcome all UW students to come
check out our practices, either to try out for the
teams or just for fun. It doesn't matter whether you've never touched a
disc before, or you just won junior
nationals with your high school. We'll start with the basics, teaching throwing, cutting, and basic offense and
defense. Each practice will include drills and scrimmaging.
Why should I come to practices?
You'll learn the sport, get a great workout, and meet some awesome people.
Sweet! Where do I sign up?
Come join us at one of our practices. Our full practice schedule can be
found at Practice Schedule.
Bring water, a light and dark t-shirt, and cleats if you have
them.
Also be sure to e-mail our
club captains with any
further questions and to be placed on the e-mail list.
Sounds great- but what if I missed the first practice?
No worries! Newcomers are always welcome during the Fall and Winter,
so come on out.
