Interviews

Selected applicants will be invited for a casual interview to learn more about you and your interests.

Team Formation

New members are welcomed to the team and begin onboarding with their subteams.

Spring - Fall

Research Season

Work on project development, research, and prepare for the iGEM competition in October.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior research experience?

No! We welcome students from all backgrounds and experience levels. What matters most is your curiosity and willingness to learn.

What majors can apply?

We accept students from all majors. Our team includes students from biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, computer science, design, and many more.

What is the time commitment?

The time commitment varies by role and season. During the summer research period, expect around 10-20 hours per week. During the school year, it's typically 5-10 hours.

Can freshmen apply?

Absolutely! We encourage freshmen to apply. It's a great opportunity to get involved in research early in your college career.
