There are many benefits to becoming a member of the Future Technology Professionals (FTP). Being involved in a student organization is a great resume builder. FTP plans to have several volunteer projects outside of the UWT campus that will require skills learned in the classroom. Also, by becoming involved in FTP committees and/or becoming involved in the executive board of FTP, members will be able to enhance their leadership and professional skills.

Members of FTP will have several opportunities to network with students, faculty, and IT professionals. Members' UWT experience will become a lot more pleasant by networking with students and faculty. Members will have first-hand opinions on classes and on faculty. They will also be able to build their contact list of employers. By attending lectures from IT professionals, members will be able get a greater understanding of a company's environment and receive contact information from various companies.
