About Us
The Husky Paintball Club (HPC) is a Registered Student Organization that was founded in March 1994 at the University of Washington. HPC makes it possible for students, friends, and members of the local community to learn about, play, and enjoy the sport of Paintball. The club is all about getting together with a group of friends to paintball on a regular basis. Our mission is to provide a fun and safe way for people of all ages to experience the sport. HPC is managed by UW students committed to promoting the sport of Paintball in the Pacific Northwest. The best way to keep up with what's happening in the club is to add yourself to our mailing list. News and updates are sent out to the mailing list about all our events.
On average, HPC organizes 4-5 games over the course of each class quarter. These games are announced to the e-mail list and posted on our schedule. Rental guns, masks, compressed air or C02, and paintballs are available at all the fields we play at. We rotate our games around the local fields to keep our games fresh and exciting, and to give everybody the opportunity to play their preferred style of paintball whether it be woodsball, speedball, or at indoor fields. All public games are open to both UW students and regular members of the community (you do not need to be affiliated with UW or be a member of HPC to play with us). Our public events are considered recreational games (If you are looking to play competitive paintball, consider joining our team that competes in local tournaments, and college events through the NCPA). It doesn't matter if you've never played before or if you've been playing for years, everybody is welcome at our events. If you’re new to the sport, our club members will show you the ropes at our events and answer any questions you may have.
Within HPC is the Husky Paintball Team. The Husky Paintball Team has been competing in local tournaments around the North West since it got its start at the end of 2005. There are currently 2 teams, a Beginner squad for players who are new to tournament paintball, and a Rookie squad made of up more experienced players. Both squads come together to compete in college tournaments put on by the NCPA (National Collegiate Paintball Association) at the local and national level.
Do you want to organize a paintball outing for your group? Send us an e-mail and let us know, come on out to one of our public games. Paintball games make great functions for student organizations, dorm floors, corporate departments, etc. We can answer any questions you may have and can probably get you a group discount at one of the fields HPC normally plays at.
The Sultan woodsball fields (HPC's original fields) are located on public property just off Sultan Basin Rd. If you would like to use these fields, they can be played on by anybody at anytime, and it does not cost anything. The only catch is it’s not a regulated field, and you must provide all your own equipment. If you have a group that is planning to play at the Sultan fields, we can put your game on our schedule and make an announcement to our mailing list to get a larger turnout. Just send us an e-mail to let us know, the sooner we know about it the better. Directions to the Sultan fields can be found HERE.
