Events today!
Welcome back to Spring Quarter 2010!
Don't forget that there are two events today:
First, "Officer Information Session" from 3:30pm to 5:30pm (longer if needed) in the Psychology Study Center (Guthrie Annex 4). There will be pizza and drinks! So stop by if you are interested in becoming an officer next year, or just want to chat with other members/officers.
Second, free movie screening of "Unlisted - A Story of Schizophrenia" tonight at 7:30pm. Doors will open at 7:00pm, and there will be a Q&A sessiona fter the movie. Please stop by if you can as this is a rare opportunity!

2/3 (Wed) 5pm in Guthrie Annex 4. Pizza Party for all members and a chance to meet the members of Psi Chi from SPU!
2/11 (Thurs) Bar Lab Tour!!!!! 3:30pm-5pm. Meet at Guthrie main floor at 3:20pm before heading up there together. Space is limited so please RSVP with Lorin at lorindole@gmail.com

PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST
Stop by the Psychology Study Center in Guthrie Annex 4 on Tuesday October 20 at 3:30pm to participate in the Psi Chi Pumpkin Carving Contest!! Then join us on Tuesday October 27th at 3:30pm for Psi Chi's Halloween event -- The Phobia Phest! Experience haunts and horror the psychology way and see who the winners were for the Pumkin Carving Contest!

EVENT: Graduate Student Panel
When: Tuesday, March 3 from 4:30-5:30 PM
Where: Psych Study Center (Johnson Annex Room 210)
Curious to hear first-hand what graduate school in psychology is really like? Have burning questions about grad school you want answered? Then, come to the Graduate Student Panel hosted by Psi Chi! Two current UW psych grad students (representing the Cognitive Psychology and Developmental Psychology programs) will be in attendance to share their experiences and answer your questions.
Reminder: This event is on a Tuesday, not a Wednesday.
EVENT: Prospective Officer Dinner
When: Tuesday, March 3 from 5:45-6:30 PM
Where: Shultzy's (4114 University Way NE)
If you're interested in becoming a Psi Chi officer for the 2009-2010 school year, come join the current officers for dinner at Shultzy's (following the Grad Student Panel). EVENT: The Clinic Tour
When: Wednesday, February 25 from 1:50-2:30 PM
Where: Meet at Guthrie Annex 1 (right behind Guthrie Hall)
Interested in seeing what it is like to be a graduate student in Clinical Psychology and work, with patients, in a clinic on campus?
The University of Washington's Psychological Services and Training Center (The Clinic) provides psychotherapy and psychological assessment to residents of the Seattle metropolitan area, including University of Washington students and their families.
The Department of Psychology at the University of Washington maintains the Psychological Services and Training Center as a training site for graduate students in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program. Graduate student therapists provide therapeutic services and are supervised by licensed psychologists and other experienced mental health professionals.
Come to hear the director of the Clinic, Dr Corey Fagan, give us a brief talk about what it is they do at the Clinic and how this fits into the Clinical Psychology graduate program. The talk will be followed by a tour of the Clinic.

When: Wednesday, February 11 from 5-6 pm
Where: Meet in front of Guthrie Hall
Join us for a 30-40 minute tour of the UW's Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences. If you are interested in meeting people involved in linguistics, speech and hearing sciences, electical engineering, as well as psychology backgrounds, this tour is especially for you.

EVENT: Induction
When: Wednesday, January 21, 2009, 5:30 - 8:30 pm
Where: Induction in the Psych Study Center in Johnson Annex, movie will be shown in the Allen Library Auditorium
Psi Chi will be inducting its newest members from the Fall Quarter applications. Come join to receive your induction certificates, meet your fellow inductees and officers. The induction will be followed by a movie showing of Forgetting Sarah Marshall with pizza and refreshments!
