This was not a formal part of the class, but I decided to play around with some tools that I already know, and attempted to integrate them into a new project. This is an experimental map of Pokemon Go nest sites. In short, Niantic, the creators of Pokemon Go, designate parks and other greenspaces as sites where specific Pokemon spawn in high volumes over a two-week period. I acquired several maps from King County and the City of Seattle and merged parks that were fragmented into multiple parts. I also added some nest sites that are not designated parks, such as Parrington Lawn and the UW Quad. The end goal is to create a publicly accessible web page that is routinely updated each fortnight as each nest migration takes place.
