International Health Opportunities Program
The International Health Opportunities Program (IHOP) is a funded international global health experience for students between their first and second years of medical school at the University of Washington.
Specific and current information about IHOP and its sites can be found at the Department of Global Health IHOP site.
IHOP provides selected students the opportunity to learn more about international health care systems and basic public health. In 2008 IHOP sent students to India, Madagascar,
Palau, Peru, and Uganda. In the past, students have also gone to Kenya and Ghana. Each site is specifically chosen each year because of its ties to UW faculty and researchers.
UWSOM students may also fulfill their III project while participating in IHOP.
