Meeting Minutes for January 5, 2005

In Attendance: CT, Muhamad (aka Ian), Alanna, Judith, Derian, Mika (aka Misty), Genevieve, Badger, Sonnet, Laurabelle and Eleanor.

12th Night

12th Night is this weekend January 7th-9th. Several people are going - some for the whole thing, others day-tripping (possibly weather dependant). E-mail the list if you want to go and still need a ride.

Feast of St. Bunstable: Next Friday (January 14)

Confirmed participants include the Equestrian Guild, Culinary Guild and a Drama reading organized by Julian. Possibly the pewter group as well - I need to check with Sean.

The food dishes CT (and helpers) are preparing are Stewed Hungarian Capon and Tart for an Ember Day (vegetarian - served cold). Neither of these is vegan and both contain onions.

Badger is making (and will bring) site tokens. Judith will be sitting at gate making sure everyone signs the appropriate paperwork. We could use a clean-up committee so those who cooked don't have to do it all.

Their Excellencies have requested a court. Not sure what business they have (but they did say it would be short). We discussed having Dieter announce the upcoming A&S competition and Gordon mention the Light of St. Bunstable voting (Eleanor will e-mail them about this). We also need to make sure we have a herald (Dieter) to do court.

We will be putting out a jar for donations to cover the cost of food.

An event reminder e-mail will be going out soon. The tentative schedule of events and main dishes will be included, as well as a reminder to bring feast gear and serving utensils for your potluck contribution.

Spring Fling

Date (May 7) not yet on the calendar. Rosalind needs to be reminded to get that paperwork submitted. Judith and Muhamad volunteered to co-autocrat. (Judith is an SCA member for paperwork purposes).

Domesday Boke Progress reports

Roll of arms pages: drafts complete. Arranged by background color (a period acceptable way according to Badger)

Map: in progress. Mika had some nice sketches of the main circle with roads/paths in it and some separate drawings of buildings (including Greenspire - yeah!).

Light of St. Bunstable recipients: Eleanor now has approved ink, a pen that uses it and period alphabet samples so that she can work on Layout of the text portions of the page. The central figure and appropriate devices have been sized on the computer and are ready to trace once the layout is determined.

Heraldry page: Not sure of progress due to Rosalind's absence from the meeting. Know that she finished a draft of the achievement, but it may be too small. Eleanor will e-mail to check on progress.

Legend of St. Bunstable page: Eleanor realized that this had never been officially assigned to anyone. Genevieve graciously agreed to take a stab at reducing (or just finding a good excerpt from) the long legend on the website to something that will fit on one calligraphed page. The text will be in two columns separated/surrounded by pillars and capped by an arch with a reproduction of the monk-tapping-a-keg woodcut (which Badger will dig up and scan from his books).

It was fairly obvious that that drafts would not be done in time for 12th night. So Eleanor is going to take them to Ursalmas for approval. This means that she needs them in her hands by January 21 at the very latest (preferably earlier in the week). She will be checking in with everyone working on the pages frequently to make sure this happens. Everyone also needs to determine what paint colors they will need so we can determine what we have access to an if we need to purchase anything else.
