Meeting Minutes for October 20 Bunstable Meeting

In Attendance: Rosalind, Eleanor, CT, Badger, Misty, Gordon, Sonnet, Alanna, Judith, Ursula, Ian and one other person whose name I did not catch (sorry)

Progress report of the Feast of St. Bunstable:

Eleanor announced that the event is on the Kingdom Calendar, and Rosalind added that we have been given the go ahead to submit Crier copy. A draft of the Event copy was passes around for proofing. Eleanor has made initial contact with Drama and Culinary asking if they would like to participate. She will send out a more generalized call once the event copy goes out. CT is working on the main dish for the feast and would welcome help. Badger is doing the site token. Eleanor would like someone else to run gate (just sign-in sheet and waivers) and will check with their Excellencies about a high table and court.

Spring Fling:

Looked at date possibilities, and decided that April 9 seems best (due to conflicts with later dates). Judith, Alanna and Sonnet all said they would assist the autocrat, but did not want to do it themselves. Tentative site choice is landing in Sylvan Grove, but it was pointed out that the autocrat may want to research alternate sites (that would allow rapier combat) due to weather uncertainty at that time of year.

Challenges for Fiach:

Liked the idea of directly inviting him to the Feast and issuing 3 challenges to be completed by Spring Fling. These should somehow tie in to the pillars of the college: knowledge, community and passion. One of these will be to compose a song about Boffing (specifically addressing their challenge that “their guy can beat our guy in a battle where you don’t need armor”), a second will be to teach a class for the college - probably on the topic of his choosing, although interest was expressed in shoe construction or possibly fighting. The third challenge was not settled on. Also discussed asking him to fight for us in a tournament and creating a champions token for him to wear.

Banner

Sonnet asked to be reimbursed for the vinyl table banner for the club fair. Eleanor took the receipt to deliver to the Exchequer at the next Madrone business meeting. Sonnet also mentioned that since they now have our device set up in the computer, it would be fairly simple to get a blowup of just the device as a weatherproof banner.

Brainstorming of Project Night/Class

Ideas: Bodices, Shoes, T-tunic. Decided to hold a T-tunic class at Badger and Sonnet's on Dec 4 from noon on.
