COLLEGE OF ST. BUNSTABLE
MINUTES OF THE JUNE BUSINESS MEETING
Leading the
meeting: Eleanor Ashling
Attendees: Christopher Thomas
Dieter von Zweibruecken
Rosalind
Badger
Sonnet Manon
Ursula Whitcher
Misty
Gordon
Chronicler: Laurabelle
TITHING
At last month's
business meeting, Eleanor proposed tithing to Madrone and to the Kingdom
Chirurgeons. This month she read out the numbers again, which are as follows:
Current
balance: $1433.19
10% to
Barony: $143.32
Chirurgeons:
$400.00 (approximately $266 + $143)
The tithe to the
Barony is for 2003; the tithe to the Chirurgeons is for 2002 and 2003, since the
2002 check never got delivered. We're also getting a tithe of about $400 from
the Barony.
Eleanor made the
motion, Dieter seconded it, and the measure was put to a vote.
10 ayes and no nays
(surprise!).
The tithes are to
be presented at Lionhearts. Eleanor will request the check and a place on Their
Majesties' court docket at the Baronial business meeting on Monday (June 7);
Dieter will ask the
Baronial herald to
add it to the court docket for the first court of Ragnarr and Bergdis. ;-)
NEXT SENESCHAL
There are three
candidates for Seneschal:
Rosalind
Genevieve
Laurabelle (not for
sole seneschalship -- say that 3 times fast!)
There was much
discussion but little actually done, since Genevieve was not present. We
eventually concluded that we really need to meet and get to know her before we
can make a decision about the leadership of the College. Therefore, we decided
to have a social/business gathering this weekend so that at least the 3
candidates can get to know each other. Two times were proposed:
Friday, June 4, 7pm
at the Wallingford Pizza House
(provided that we
can reserve the back room)
Sunday, June 6,
11am at CT's house for brunch
Laurabelle was
assigned to find out whether either of these times works for Genevieve.
At this meeting,
the members of the College will come to a consensus about which candidate to
support and will then make an announcement to the baron and baroness.
It should be noted
that never in Sonnet's experience with the College (which is a very long time in
College terms) has there ever been more than one candidate for seneschal! We
are making history!
OTHER BUSINESS
Laurabelle
volunteered for the job of Chronicler and was apparently accepted. It is
unclear to her whether this means that she isn't running for seneschal any more.
She was also thinking of Arts and Sciences Minister, but Chronicler is more
urgent.
Ursula was invited
to become either Herald or A&S Minister (to make up the third officer required
by the SCA), but she has not yet made up her mind.
Finally, Eleanor
suggested that she would reserve a table for the fall campus student org demo,
and we all agreed that she should.
