April Business Meeting Via E-mail

Greetings!

We attempted to hold our regular monthly business meeting on Tuesday evening, but only CT and I showed up, making it difficult to discuss things. We decided that because of the lack of time between now and Spring Fling in May, some of the things Thorhalla asked to have discussed should be sent to the list for comments. Following is a list of things to be discussed or noted:

1. Timing of business meeting. At the beginning of the quarter we moved the business meetings to 5:30 because that seemed to work better for people. However, since that time we have not had more than 4 people attend a business meeting. So, should we stick to the new time or switch again - either back to the old time or something else altogether? We do not have room reservations for this quarter, so that would not have to be changed. Please comment - there isn't much point having meetings that no one attends.

2. Spring Fling [Notes from Thorhalla]

• I hadn't heard back from Aquaterra about the date conflict thing for Spring fling, so I sent another email. But, as is now, we are on the calendar for Sunday, May 30 since BAO allowed us to conflict with their archery event on that weekend. It was the third alt. date that I put on the date reservation form way back when, and I know it's during the event CT always goes to. [This event is Egil's]

• I have not heard back from Dieter yet about running the Arts/Sciences competition, since he was the winner last year.

• I still need to email Gordon about the polling for the Light of St. Bunstable award.

• We aren't going to charge for this event (correct?), so I figured we could just go the route that we've gone in the past and not officially reserve the Sylvan's Grove. I will check to make sure it's not already reserved for something else though.

• General brainstorming about what people want to have happen with Spring Fling would be nice - decorations, food, activities, etc. [Please send ideas to the list]

3. Social meetings: I was thinking maybe this month we could do another scribal night and start doing some planning/drafting for the doomsday book pages we were planning on doing? I know you're [Eleanor] kind of in charge of the whole project, so let me know.

Eleanor's comment: As the current quasi-coordinator for this project, I almost think we may want to hold off a bit to be sure this is actually happening and what guidelines are before doing too much. That being said, nothing will probably get done over the summer, so an early start may be necessary. If people want to work on this, I suggest we work on drafting a condensed version of the legend of St. Bunstable and possibly working on the map and heraldry. I have some thoughts/notes from the last project night we had on this that I will dig out and post soon.

If anyone has another idea for what to do for a project/social night activity post it as well.

Some new information since Tuesday:

Spring Fling: Aquaterra graciously gave us permission to conflict with their date (May 16th, Sunday), so I will get the calendar date changed ASAP and we will proceed with our original plans.

Meetings: I have reserved the meeting rooms for the rest of the quarter, but they can easily be changed, if there is another proposed meeting time.
