About RETRO

The RETRO Revolutionary Po'ets (RETRO) is Registered Student Organization at the University of Washington (UW). RETRO puts on an Open Mic show every first Monday of the month at the Ethnic Culutral Theatre. RETRO also collaborates with other groups on and off campus to put on events/charity for the community. Although RETRO began as just an Open Mic show, it quickly expanded into so much more.

Our Mission

The Mission of the RETRO Revolutinary Po'ets is to provide a safe envorinment for members of the UW and surrounding communities to express themselves creatively. This may include spoken word, song, dance, story telling, beat-boxing, DJ'ing, or any other form of expresion the individiual/group is able to perform. In addition to performance, RETRO is dedicated to giving back to our community by spreading awareness and taking action. RETRO collects donations for different organizations each month, and participates in Relay for Life annually. RETRO also recognizes faculty, staff, and students at each show to spread awareness of the amazing people at the University of Washington.
