Israel Advocates Conference
On Sunday February 21st, from about 10:30-4:30, Israel Forever along with StandWithUs will be hosting an Israel Advocacy Conference right here at the University of Washington. This will be a fantastic event and a great opportunity to network with Israel advocates from campuses across the Northwest as well as a chance to hear from some great speakers including Roberta Seid, StandWithUs' National Director of Research. We understand that giving up most of a Sunday can be difficult but we strongly encourage you to come. Not only will you get free food and fantastic amounts of knowledge and training that will make you a stronger advocate for Israel, but it will also show other area schools as well as community members and professors who will be stopping by that there is a strong support for Israel at the UW. Please email me if you are at all interested, or even just want to hear more, and I can get you all the information you need. We really need a strong showing so encourage anyone who you think might be interested to come and please do so yourself. Because of the nature of the event we do need people to RSVP, so just shoot me an email saying you can come so or email Shira Jaret from SWU at shira(dot)jaret(at)standwithus(dot)com.
See you there!!

Help with Israelpalooza
Hi All,
As you may have noticed there is a new layout to the web page. As the quarter continues I'm hoping to have more improvements so that it is a lot easier for everyone to be informed and know what is going on with Israel Forever.
For the more important news, Israelpalooza is coming up on April 29th from 12:30-3:30. It is going to be an awesome bash celebrating Israel including free food, prizes, live music, and more. A lot of different people are coming together to make this a fantastic event, but we really need your support. The officers met yesterday with Huskies for Israel, who are officially in charge of this extravaganza, and one of the biggest things they said they need was help!! We need lots of volunteers, everyone that we can muster. The more people that help the more awesome Israelpalooza will be. Also having a larger number of volunteers means people working the booths can switch off more and enjoy everything that will be available.
So please, please email us if you are interested in helping(israelf@u.washington.edu), we both need help the day of to set up and in the coming weeks to prepare everything. Make sure to get your friends to help too. Also if you won't be able to stick around at the event to help you still have to stop by to enjoy the festivites and make sure everyone you know knows about it too. We will post more details as soon as they are available.

We will be discussing any topics anyone brings up about Israel and the situation in the Middle East. We will also be doing advocacy training. This will be useful for both those who haven't had any training and who just want to brush up. Please come it should be extremely useful and insightful for all.

Unsettled Announcement
Hi All
So next week we have our first big event coming up, sponsored by Camera and Legacy Heritage. There will be a screening of the award winning film Unsettled, followed by a special Q & A session with the director, Adam Hootnik. It follows 6 Jewish teenagers during the Israeli Disengagement from Gaza. You can see a trailer and find out more about it on the officialwebsite. It’s on January 21st in HUB 310 and we’re starting at 7 PM. We are in the process of putting posters up in as many places as we can, but we can’t get everywhere. If you can we would really appreciate if you printed out at least 1 poster, which can be found here, and put it up somewhere that it will really be noticed. We always greatly appreciate your help in this and with all our great Israel advocacy on campus. Thanks.

Rally
Thank you thank you thank you to all those who came out and supported us today!!!! The showing was great and is a real indicator of what kind of support we have for Israel at the University of Washington. It was also really fantastic to see the various groups for Israel and even other individuals come together to show their support, that is something Israel Forever is greatly pushing for on campus. If you took any pictures or video at the rally it would be really great if you could email that to adwmayer@u.washington.edu so we can put it up and display to all what we are doing. If you or anyone else wants to continue showing that kind of support we will be tabling every Thursday on the HUB lawn from about 10 to 2. If you are interested in tabling, even if it's only for a short period, please email Ben Dershowitz at bdersho@u.washington.edu or any other officer whose email addresses can be found on our contact page. Also if you are not yet on our mailing list please sign up here so you can stay up to date and tell your friends and family about it too so they can get involved. Don't forget to check back here regularly for updates, which will hopefully be a few times a week.
