Food: Ice Cream

Anne Dame

Molly Moon's Ice Cream
1622.5 N 45th St (Wallingford)
917 E Pine St (Capitol Hill)

Molly Moon's is dedicated to using the freshest, locally grown ingredients available for her ice cream. She also uses organic whenever possible. She also offers two vegan sorbet options at all times. Molly Moon ice cream is unique for the variety of floavors available. There is always the standard triple play of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. But then she totally mixes it up by offering choices like: strawberry balsamic, beet sorbet, honey lavendar, or vivace coffee. I personally like the salted caramel the best. When it is hot out, be prepared to stand in line - I have seen it wrap all the way around the block when the weather is really hot.

Old School Frozen Custard
1316 E. Pike Street (Capitol Hill)

OMG! You have got to go to this place. The frozen custard is amazing!!! They only have 3 flavors each day, two of which are vanilla and chocolate. The third flavor changes daily. On the day that I went, it was Kahlua chip. I sampled the chocolate. (Fabulous!) But the I got the kahlua chip and it rocked my world. I went with my roomie Sarah and after we finished ours, we almost went all the way from Ballard back to Capital Hill for seconds. Seriously, it was that good. The important thing to note is that they do sell pints of the vanilla and chocolate.

If you can't make it to Capitol Hill, I have heard rumors that Peaks Frozen Custard near Pies and Pints is also very tasty. I haven't made it there yet, but plan to in the very near future.
