So you ask, "what happens to the fees that I pay to the University of Washington?" Well, each quarter you and your fellow students pay a Services and Activities fee of $89 per full time student. This fee is in addition to tuition fees and was established by the Washington State Legislature "for the express purpose of funding student activities and programs of their particular institution." (RCW 28B.15.041)
The fee brings in approximately $7 million and funds 11 different organizations that provide services to students. Allocations for the fee are determined by 7 student members, more information can be found under "the Members" section.
So take a look around the website and see where your fee goes. If you have any questions or suggestions, e-mail the Services and Activities Fee Committee at safc@u.washington.edu
