How to Join

Free Radicals is a FREE club open to any UW student who has an interest in chemistry or biochemistry. There is no GPA or major requirement. There is no formal application process; simply come to any of our events or meetings, like us on Facebook, and/or subscribe to our mailing list.

Phi Lambda Upsilon (PLU) is an honor society for those who are serious about chemistry or biochemistry. To qualify for membership the applicant needs to:

  • take the introductory chemistry series (CHEM 142/152/162 or a comparable equivalent)
  • maintain an average 3.0 grade point average in chemistry courses,
  • declare a major in chemistry and/or biochemistry, and
  • maintain an overall GPA of 3.0.

To be an active member, you must maintain regular attendance at our general meetings. There is a membership fee of $50, payable after email verification that your application has been accepted.
