Event Descriptions

Lightning Talks

Lightning Talks showcase the research being performed around campus. The event features brief talks intended to be a platform for sharing new findings, presenting ideas, and facilitating new collaborations. If you have some new exciting data, need feedback on an idea, or just want to highlight your work, this would be a great event for you! See what your fellow peers are working on. Get input for an upcoming presentation. Find like-minded people to collaborate with. Great for anyone who wants to see what’s happening around campus!

Tech Shops

Tech Shops are student-led presentations on scientific techniques that are useful in materials research and deemed interesting by our members. Each 20-30 min talk covers the theory behind one technique, its experimental considerations, and real applications of the technique. The informal format allows members to learn new techniques or review old ones in a low-pressure setting, while providing an excellent opportunity for networking.
