What is the Integrated Forecast Board?

Quoted from Air Force Personnel Center physician education website 21 Jun 2007:

"The Integrated Forecast Board (IFB) meets on an annual basis, usually in May or June, to determine the training requirements for the Air Force Medical Service; which includes Medical Corps (MC), Dental Corps (DC), Nursing Corps (NC), Biomedical Science Corps (BSC), and the Medical Service Corps (MSC). Once the training requirements are identified and approved, usually between June and July, the IFB results are available for public release.  Air Force personnel are only authorized to submit an application for training for a specialty approved by the IFB. To learn more about the annual IFB approved training requirements, please contact the appropriate Corps:"
