Helicopter (Robinson R44) Sound Recreation

The Inpsiration

I was consuming aviation content on YouTube when I stumbled upon this amazing one of starting up a helicopter to take off right from the yard. There's something so satisfying about seeing the blades spin so fast to lift the whole aircraft up, gracefully. And, I don't know, maybe I'm just an aviation nerd, but I always get the feelings of the aerodynamic forces that make it possible for the aircraft to lift itself off the ground, and the smooth, repeating, slicing noise created by the blades contribute a lot to giving me that weird perspective from merely seeing and hearing a video of it. So I wanted to see how close I can make that noise from direct sound recording, just using whatever sounds I can make using myself and my surroundings. I wanted to see how similar a feeling this potential sound recreation will produce compared to a real one.

The Process

Here's a brief deconstruction of my attempt in recreating that R44 heli sound.

And below is your chance to hear every individual sounds and cumulative results each time a sound is added.
