Group Requirements
You have to be associated with a college in some way, be it student, grad student, faculty, or staff. We have a group dues of $5 that can be paid anytime. This is plus the $7 that you need to pay to register as a Girl scout. You do not have to register right away, but to participate at a full CGS, you need to register. If you would like a registration form sent to you, please send your name and address to campusgs@u.washington.edu.
This year if you pay your dues and come to one meeting or activity a quarter, you will receive the CGS pin.
Activities
The first activity we discussed is a national CGS Brownies Go To College Day probably March 31, where we would host a few events on campus for Brownies to participate in. This is something that CGS across the nation are going to be putting on to bring publicity to CGS and introduce 1-3 graders to their campuses. There is more information as well as a proposed agenda for the day on our web site at http://students.washington.edu/campusgs/minutes.shtml - click on BGTC information. We need people to help plan this event, in terms of setting up a schedule, registering, talking to departments about hosting an activity, people to help on the day of the event, etc. It shouldn't take too much time to plan, but without more help, we will not be able to put it together. If you are interested, please response with a time of week that you would be available to meet to help plan. If we get enough responses, a planning meeting will be set for early November.

The next activity is a Junior Scout overnighter. This is a council event whose goal is to have a better retention rate of girls staying in scouts when they move on to middle school. The committee putting this event together is interested in having campus scouts come and participate in some way, be it running an activity or just hanging out for the night. You do not have to stay the whole night. Some ideas that are being considered are having the Seattle Storm (Women NBA) come and play basketball with the girls, having some prominent women come and talk about their time in Girl Scouting, and having fun activities for the girls to do. The committee feels they would like to have older scouts on hand to show the girls and their parents that there is time for scouting as you grow. If you are interested, let us know and we will forward your name to the people in charge so that you can keep informed of this event.

Thirdly, Leanne am looking into putting together a packet that would give scouts ideas of activities to do on campus to earn a specific badge. This is something I will be doing myself, but would love to have anyone who is interested to come join me. When finished, this packet would be available to troops around totem council and if people are interested, we would like to offer the help of a campus scout to help the troop do the activities on campus.

Next Meeting
The next meeting will be in late November and we are going to try and get Santa letters to answer. If not, we'll find something else to do.

Meeting adjourned at 6:15 PM
