Oversees ALISS operations; represents MLIS students on the iSchool Student Leadership Council; coordinates quarterly open meetings (a.k.a., town halls); runs officer elections; solicits nominations for, select finalists, and present 21st Century Award at iSchool Convocation. Role restrictions: One position must be residential. The other may be online.
Vice-president: David Frappier
Serves as GPSS Senator (two meetings a month) and spearheads planning for ALISS social events. Supports Co-Presidents. Role restrictions: Must live in Seattle.
Treasurer: Ginny Trufan
Oversee ALISS finances and expenses, manage budget, track expenses, and create annual funding request with estimated expenses. Role restrictions: Must live in Seattle.
Secretary: Maureen Hogan
Takes minutes for all meetings; completes paperwork & other steps to maintain ALISS’s registered RSO status; and collaborate with ALISS team on event planning, especially the Spring/Fall book sales and the iOrgs Welcome Fair table. Role restrictions: none; open to both residential and online students.
Publicity officer: Kate McAlister
Promotes ALISS events through email, manages all of ALISS’s social media channels (including blog/website), and creates promotional materials such as graphics/buttons/posters. Role restrictions: none; open to both residential and online students.
Diversity officers: Renan Leite, Courtney Nomiyama, Karen Wang
Serve as representatives on the iSchool Diversity Committee; serve as representatives on the Student Diversity Leadership Council; take the lead on diversity events and efforts; manage the Equity Needs & Suggestions drop box. Role restrictions: one position residential, two online.
Online representatives: Liz Gershon, Stephanie Leary, Rai Yiannakos
Advocate for online students with ALISS and iSchool administration; identify ways to make events available to online students; host weekly online chats based on surveyed availability of students; take the lead on planning ALISS online events. Role restrictions: must be online students.
