Hello, my name is Marc Yamamoto. I am a undergraduate senior in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Washington.
Undergraduate Research:
As an undergraduate I have been working in Dr. John Berg's research group in the field of Surface and Colloid Science. My specific research entails measuring the mobility and zeta potential of colloidal dispersions in dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). The goal of my preliminary research and experimentation is to find the minimum salt content of the DMSO solution to induce aggregation of CeO2 particles.
The salts that are going to be tested in DMSO are as follows:
