    About Me

    I am currently working as a Research Associate in the Department of Civil & Environmental Enginggering (CEE) at the University of Washington (UW). Eariler, I received my Ph.D. and M.S. in CEE at the UW advised by Prof. Yinhai Wang in, respectively, 2015 and 2020. I earned my B.S. in Transportation Engineering at Southeast University in 2010. My research interests mainly lie on smart transportation infrastructure, transportation data science, connected & autonomous vehicles, and urban computing. The detailed infromation about my research can be found in my CV.

    In my spare time, I like play basketball. Before joining the UW, I was a basketball team member of Southeast University and Nanjing No.9 Middle School. I participated lots of contests and won medals, such as the Second Place of 2010 Nanjing University Basketball Contest, the Championship of 2005 Jiangsu Middle School Student Men's Basketball Contest, and I earned the title of Natioanl Level of Atheletes of China in 2006, which is granted by Chinese General Administrationa of Sport of China.

    DRIVE Net is an on-line transportation platform aimed at data sharing, integration, visualization, and analysis. The system provides users with the capability to store, access, and manipulate data from anywhere as long as they have Internet connections.

    Real-Time Public Transit Ridership Flow Monitoring based on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Sensing Technology

    We developed an inexpensive system that uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals from passengers’ mobile devices to collect better data about real-time transit ridership flow and O-D information.

    Pedestrian Sensing Based on Wi-Fi Channel State Informatioon (CSI)

    The main objective of this research is to demonstrate the feasibility and reliability of Wi-Fi CSI-based sensing method for pedestrian sensing, e.g. moving direction and speed, pedestrain counting, dwelling acitivity and travel time. The finds can improve the performance of pedestrian related ITS systems, such as smart pedestrian crossing signal, advanced driver-assistance systems

    Traffic Sensing for E8 Corridor Performance Monitoring and Travel Reliability Enhancement

    The goal of the project is to enhance the safety and reliability of the E8 corridor in Norway. The research products of this project may offer a new cost-effective monitoring and operational solution on rural freight corridors, particularly in harsh climates.

    Connected Vehicle Applications for Improved Winter Mobility

    The objectives of this project are to investigate how connected vehicle data (CV) such as images and friction coefficients could be integrated with data from road weather information system(RWIS) stations and other infrastructure to improve decision making for highway operations and enhance traveler information during inclement winter weather events.
