About Us

Our history

On June 1st, 1847, three young men – John Bradt Yates Sommers, William Henry Dayton, and John Moon Skillman – founded the first Zeta Psi chapter at New York University. The second Zeta Psi chapter popped up five years later at William College in Massachusetts. With these two chapters serving as the seeds, Zeta Psi has grown to include 75 chapters in the US, Canada, and, as of 2008, the United Kingdom, making Zetes the first and one of the only international fraternities.
