    I have to say that I am a dying breed in terms of the lacrosse world in the United States. I began playing my freshman year at UW. Honestly, my home town had never seen the likes of a fandangled object such as a lacrosse stick. But like most, I have fell in love with the sport. I am now moving onto my third year as a player and an overworked referee. I serve as the liaison between the Washington State Local Umpire Board (WSLUB) and the Northwest Women's Lacrosse Association (NWWLA). I also had the chance to referee at the European Newcomers' Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark which was an exciting event to see how the sport of lacrosse is slowly taking over the world.
    My goal is to further the sport of lacrosse at the University of Washington and in the local region. I feel that having a supportive environment from my captains when I started allowed me to develop as a player. I am also inspired by the commitment of my teammates that come out day after day and practice their hearts out!
    Though we suffered losses to our team due to graduation, but this should not have a deterring effect on our goal to make it to Nationals for the second year in a row.
