• Escort carrier
  
  Fleet, or even light, carriers are too rare and expensive to be everywhere at once, but fighters are always needed. Escort carriers of the Langley class help to solve that problem. They are lightly armed and only carry a handful of fighters, but they can carry those fighters places they otherwise could not go, providing fighter cover even to those far from the main fleets. 
• B-10D Battleaxe
  
  Perhaps the least subtle ship to fly from the decks of Earth carriers, the Battleaxe is a slow, massively shielded and armored heavy bomber meant to pound its targets to pieces from afar with its pair of heavy mass drivers, with a gatling turret for closer ranges. While it has a defensive turret, it is no dogfighter and requires escort against enemy fighters.

New Fleet Carrier

The Salamis-class carriers are by far the largest carriers fielded by Earth forces. With enough defenses to withstand punishment and vast fighter and bomber capacity, these fleet carriers are seen as the true "queens of the navy." They may have no offensive weaponry at all, but their air wings make them much more dangerous, at a much greater distance, than any battleship.
