Practice, practice, practice.

Your first few public presentations can be pretty tough...especially when large audiences are involved.  The importance of practice can NOT be overstated.  Practice will make you feel more comfortable with your delivery, and can help you to avoid common problems.  Get constructive feedback from N&B grad students who have experience in making presentations and understand how important this is to you.

Currently, we hold a free session at your request (please make an appointment at least three days in advance).

Practice talk?

Need to practice for a talk? Are you presenting a poster at a conference or symposium? We can listen to your presentation and provide positive and constructive feedback at no cost to you.  If you make an appointment at least a week in advance, we can even set up a video system and record your presentation so that you can watch your own performance on a DVD or CD as early as the next day, again, at no cost to you.  The service is available for free to UW undergraduate students presenting on a research topic related to neuroscience.
