FAQ

Here are some of the questions we get asked most frequently about WashPIRG and our campaigns.

 What is WashPIRG?

WashPIRG, which stands for Washington Public Interest Research Group, is a grassroots public advocacy group.  We’re nonpartisan, nonprofit and student-led.

What  do you do?

As a state-based, independent student group, we work to solve public interest problems related to the environment, consumer protection, and government reform both nationally and close to home. This means we work on campaigns to fight global warming and political corruption, as well as campaigns like the Affordable Textbook Act and last year’s march on Metro cuts.

How can I get involved?

We offer lots of opportunities to get involved with our WashPIRG chapter, as well as in local politics. Check out our Get Involved page to find out more about volunteering, joining, and other ways you can make a difference on and off campus.

I want to donate, how can I?

Students, you can choose to select a one-time $3 donation when selecting optional fees to be added to your tuition account.
