Welcome to VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood, the UW chapter. We're a group dedicated to getting out accurate information about sex and reproductive health, and protecting the services and rights that are necessary to stay healthy, prevent unplanned pregnancies, and take control of your body.
We educate in the current threats to reproductive health and rights and, more importantly, we actually do something to keep our rights safe!
But, just because VOX is a focused and deadicated group - we still manage to have a lot of fun. There's tabling and picnics in the sun (when it's out), outrage over movies, birth control demos, T-shirts, and FOOD! Food is always a plus. VOX is a group that lets its its members express themselves (as long as you remain respectful of people with differing opinions). We value diversity and we are determined to make a difference. Even if that difference is simply handing out as many free condoms as possible!
If you like condoms. If you like FREE condoms. If you think sex might actually be fun/good. If you just want an excuse to wear neon colored T-shirts and eat pizza... VOX is the place for you! Come chat with us on the HUB lawn or swing by a meeting. The more the merrier, in every way possible. ;) Plus, we always come with cool free stuff.
MISSION:
VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood of the University of Washington exists to educate the university and extended community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.
We are a UW based, pro-choice activist group. Our purpose is to raise awareness about reproductive issues such as birth control, abortion, and medically accurate sex ed, mobilize young people to take action concerning these issues, and educate our community so they can make healthy, resposible sexual decisions.
BELIEFS:
VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood of the University of Washington believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her fertility. VOX supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.

VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood of the University of Washington is open to all students, faculty, administrators, and staff of the University of Washinton.
