2011-2012 Dance Team at a UW Men's Basketball Game Halftime Show

Performance Team:
Out of the dancers who have joined the club, a group of dancers will be chosen as the performance team based on dancing ability. Auditions for the performance team take place once a year at the beginning of autumn quarter. The performance team consists of the dancers who compete and perform throughout the year and represent the club. If a dancer is not selected to be on the performance team, he/she may participate at the Tuesday dance club practice. Dancers not chosen to be on the performance team are strongly encouraged to come to Tuesday dance club practices.

Practices:
The performance team meets on Tuesdays from 8:30-9:30 pm and on Thursdays from 7:30-9:30 pm.

Club:
Starting Oct. 4th, Club meets every Tuesday from 7:30-8:30 pm in IMA Studio 216. There will be guest teachers in styles ranging from salsa to break dancing.

Dues:
Every member must pay club dues of $30 per quarter in order to participate. This includes the cost for a dance club T-shirt. This may be paid either in cash or by a check (made out to UWDT) by the fourth week of club practice of every quarter (Fall quarter dealine: November 8th). Anyone who has not paid $30 dues by the fifth week will not be considered a full-paying member but may "drop in" every week thereafter. Admission into the club for proceeding quarters may be obtained at the first practice of that quarter.

Attitude:
Attitude is a major ingredient for success! It is important that each member is focused on a common goal to be the best you can be at whatever you attempt in life. A positive attitude toward work and other team members is vital for creating a strong, cohesive team. Poor attitudes or arguments within the team will not be tolerated.
