Recruitment FAQ’s

How do I become a member?
Delta Gamma recruits new collegiate members during an organized process on called formal recruitment. Formal recruitment at the University of Washington is held early just before school begins in September.

Who selects new members?
Only collegiate Delta Gamma members have the privilege of selecting new members. While the Fraternity has an established procedure to guide chapters in this process to ensure consistency, the members themselves make their own decisions. In Delta Gamma, we pride ourselves on being individuals. Through our diversity of personalities and interests we are able to strengthen our bonds of sisterhood. Our members are looking for women who will bring the qualities that our members themselves take pride in, including: lifelong commitment to Delta Gamma, a desire to help and serve the community, strong moral characher, motivation to fulfill academic goals and potential, and choose to belong to an organization with a history of high ideals and a strong sisterhood.

Why Delta Gamma?
Consistent with our founders' thoughts over 129 years ago, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships and our vows of sisterhood emanate all aspects of our Fraternity. We encourage an atmosphere which will foster high ideals of friendship among college women, promote their educational and cultural interests, create in them a true sense of social responsibility and develop in them the best qualities of character. Through our Delta Gamma Foundation we support our members' academic endeavors with undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships and interest-free loans. Every member is unique and yet they all join together in a single bond of friendship through Delta Gamma.

Delta Gamma is more than just a collegiate experience; it is a lifetime of commitment, support and opportunity. For more information on Formal Recruitment, or to sign up, please visit the UW Panhellenic Council.
