Latina Health Fair
I wanted to invite you to serve at the Latina Health Fair with me this year. This is my third year and let me tell you, it is great! If you are a UWSOM student/care provider, you can volunteer in the patient care area doing a variety of screenings. You don’t have to speak Spanish and you will get a free T-shirt and lunch. Please read the a following information and come represent Christ as we serve our community.
God Bless!

You are invited to volunteer at the Washington Health Foundation’s 7th Annual Latina Health Fair to be held on Saturday, May 16, 2008, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the North Seattle Community College, College Center in Seattle, Washington. Your participation will enable many families to access valuable health care, resources and community information that contribute greatly to the improved health and quality of life.
As part of its campaign to make Washington the Healthiest State in the Nation, the Washington Health Foundation is building Healthy Systems and promoting Healthy Living in the largest civic engagement project for health in state history. To reach that goal, Washington must focus on eliminating health disparities – ensuring our most vulnerable populations have access to appropriate and affordable preventative health care.
The Latina Health Fair (LHF) is doing just that. Through the participation of a wide range of community organizations, LHF is an innovative way to meet the unique health care needs of all women and their families by minimizing the barriers that prevent them from accessing health care. The LHF will have FREE direct health services, which will include pap/pelvic exams, mammograms, pregnancy testing, diabetes testing, cholesterol testing, HIV testing, blood pressure testing, oral, vision and osteoporosis screenings. In addition to the services, we will have great food, lively entertainment and, for families, child care activities.
Volunteering at the Washington Health Foundation’s 7th Annual Latina Health Fair is an excellent way for you to show your commitment to the health care needs of our community. Even if you are unable to volunteer, please consider passing on this invitation and registration form to others who may be interested in joining us to help make this event a great success.
At the Washington Health Foundation, our greatest assets are strong relationships and a reputation for excellence among a broad set of statewide and community leaders, health service providers, and the people of Washington. We would be honored if you would join our collaborative efforts to improve health and share in our vision of making Washington the Healthiest State in the Nation.
