Tribeta Officers (2009-2010)
President: Katie Miller
Hi! I'm Katie Miller, a junior majoring in Physiology with minor in Bioethics and Humanities.
After graduation, I hope to become a physical therapist. In my spare time, I enjoy being terrible
at a number of pursuits: tango, windsurfing, and hiking. Tribeta caught my eye because it allowed
me to connect with other people that are fascinated by the science of how we function-be it understanding
muscles or researching better ways to be healthy. I decided to run for president because I loved tutoring
for Tribeta so much that I wanted help the club with more than study sessions. Now as president, I am seeking
to engage more people in biology by working with the other officers to put on fun academic talks, parties,
and events. I encourage everyone to come to our meetings for a fun (biology) time!

VP of Meetings: Kelly Fellows
I'm about to start my fourth year of five as a double major in History and Biology; my favorite subjects
within Biology are Genetics and Physiology. I'm in the college honors program, and I'm doing my honors major
in Biology. I want to go to medical school and become a pediatrician or a family practice doctor. When I'm not
doing school stuff or working part-time for ramen money, my hobbies are talking, listening to music, talking more,
going to new and awesome places around Seattle, and going to Ikea.I also am planning to take up hiking; in my picture,
I am on the left and at the top of Mt. Pilchuck! If you have an awesome ideas for meetings, email
them to me! I want to make sure that Tribeta meetings are as fun and interesting as possible.

I am a senior this year majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (this is only one major), and I am currently doing some really cool evolutionary genetics work in Dr. Ben Kerr's lab. As for my future plans, I will apply to a MHA (masters of healthcare administration) program this winter. After completing that program, I plan to continue on to get my MD. Anyway, if you need help finding research, feel like you want to be more involved with tri-beta, have a great poster design suggestion, or have an obscure biology fact, then email me or find me, or email any tri-beta officer!! Treasurer: Yunfei Li Hi! My name is Yunfei and I am responsible for the financial aspect of our club. I'm a senior majoring in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. I joined Tribeta in the first quarter when I transferred to UW because I wanted to meet more people who share similarities with me and to find out more resources that could benefit me in future. I am currently working on a research project on finding new proteins that are required in different steps of fertilization in Dr. Wakimoto's lab. If you have some questions about undergraduate research, I would love to share my experiences with you. In my leisure time, photography is my biggest passion, especially portrait photography. I also love hiking. You are welcome to join the big family. Hopefully I will see you in our events. |

VP of Skeleton Relations: Skeletor
Before entering UW a couple years ago, I was a dinosaur hunter. No, not a paleontologist; an
actual dinosaur hunter. Don't believe me? Well fine then. Anyway, it turns out that Jurassic
Park was actually a documentary film, and the government needed my skills as a world-renowned
celebrity harmonica player to help get things back to normal. It was a long and difficult experience,
but it was worthwhile. I now have a Presidential Medal of Freedom, a British knighthood, and
three Purple Hearts. I am also certified in scuba diving, base jumping, basic minerology, and
making first contact with isolated stone age tribes. That is why I am a Tribeta officer today.
