How to Join
Unlike many other groups, we offer several levels of participation, depending on how much time
and effort you want to devote to our pursuit of biological enlightenment.
Tribeta Levels of Involvement
Associate Member:
At this level of involvement, you can be of any major and may attend the majority of club meetings
and activities. It is encouraged that you take advantage of becoming an Associate Member if
you are still working on the fulfillment of Full Membership course requirements. The fee for
Associate Membership is $40 and will count towards Full Membership fee if you choose to join
as a Full Member in the future. Associate membership expires upon graduation. To be deemed an
'active member' and have your name listed on our website at the end of each quarter, we ask
that you attend at least one event/meeting per quarter and two or more for 'distinguished membership'.
Please be sure to sign-in at each meeting or activity you go to so we can confirm your attendance.
Full Member:
A Full Member must complete both a curriculum and GPA requirement. In order to be inducted as a
Full Member, you must have taken 2 introductory biology courses (Either BIOL 161/162 or BIOL 180/200)
AND one additional biology course. This third course may be BIOL 203, BIOL 220, or an upper division
biology-related course (eg. MICRO 410, GENET 371 or 372, etc.). Additionally, a Full Member must maintain
a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all biology courses. At this level of involvement you may vote and serve as an
officer. There is a one-time $50 membership fee associated with this level of membership. Full membership
is a lifetime membership and continues after graduation. To be deemed an 'active member' and have
your name listed on our website at the end of each quarter, we ask that you attend at least one
event/meeting per quarter and two or more to be designated as a 'distinguished member'. Please be
sure to sign-in at each meeting or activity so we can confirm your attendance.
New! Tribeta applicants can now pay their membership fees via Payal! To find out

Please turn in applications and payment into any Tribeta officer at meetings, or drop them off
either in TriBeta's mailbox (#190 in HUB 207) or at HCK 318.
Biology Club Involvement:
Biology Club is one of the programs that Tri-Beta offers along with our tutoring and mentoring
programs. We created the Biology club so that people who are not Tri-Beta members could join us
at our meetings and events, which are free and open to any and all interested students, faculty,
staff, or members of the community. There is no fee, GPA requirement or need to have taken a biology
course. Tri-Beta members may be given priority when space is limited. To become a member of the
Biology club simply print out the application form below and bring it to a club meeting or HCK 318.
Applications will also be available at meetings.
