Embryonic Stem Cells Research
Dr. Billie Swalla from the Biology Department will be giving a talk about "Separating Fact from Fiction regarding Embryonic Stem Cell Research." This meeting will take place from 4:30-5:30 PM on February 21st, in HCK 320.
T-shirt Design Contest!
It is time for our annual t-shirt contest! Design a Biology-related t-shirt which focuses on cellular/molecular biology, physiology, or ecology. All submitted designs will be posted in the Rotunda for viewing. The winner will have their t-shirt printed and receive a free t-shirt. You do not need to be a Tribeta or Biology Club member to enter. All designs must be in by March 7th.
Submissions must include a variation of the words University of Washington (UW) and Biology. Please email pdf formatted designs to heinze@u.washington.edu.
Relay for Life!
Tribeta and the chemistry club have joined together to make a Relay for Life team. Relay for Life is an annual event where teams from across UW gather donations to support cancer research, then participate in a relay at Husky Stadium in the first weekend of May. Animal Experimentation and Animal Rights
James Whorton fom the Medical History and Ethics department will be joining us to talk about the ethics of animal experimentation this Thursday, January 31st from 4:30-5:30 in HCK 320.
The Science of Body Weight
Come join in as the Department of Pharmacology's Professor Stanley McKnight delivers a white board discussion on the nature of the body's weight regulation system. 4:30-5:30 PM on Thursday January 17th, in HCK 320.

Bio Apparel
Bio Apparel Day is every first Wednesday of the month! You can always buy apparel in HCK 318. T-shirts ($15) come in a variety of colors and designs, sweatshirts ($35) come in forest green, red, purple, and black with the classic or moth design. Check out the apparel page
