This is a great opportunity to make a positive difference in a Seattle ecosystem and to see the herons and perhaps their nests from a short distance. Be sure to wear clothes you can get dirty in and dress for the wet weather.

Please email tribeta at tribeta@u.washington.edu if you plan on attending or have any questions!

About the organization: Heron Habitat Helpers, a community-based all volunteer organization, whose mission is protecting and preserving Seattle's largest Great Blue Heron rookery, the Kiwanis Ravine in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, just south of the Ballard Locks, will be sponsoring an outdoor work party. You can help mulch, weed and whack away at those nasty invasive plants that threaten to kill then native vegetation in this wildlife habit. We provide snacks, drinks, and tours of the Heron colony. We also supply tools and gloves. All you need do is show
up!
