BIOS Research -
Publish your Research, Get a stipend!
BIOS, the quarterly journal of Beta Beta Beta
Biological Society, has been
published continuously since 1930. It has a three-fold purpose: to
publish
matters that pertain to the affairs of the Society, to publish articles
by
members, and to publish articles that will be of general interest to
biologists. Many distinguished biologists have contributed manuscripts
for
publication in BIOS, written especially with the undergraduate
reader in
mind. Subjects covered include articles on current research,
developments in
biology, biology as a profession, as well as graduate and professional
training
for biologists. Special emphasis is placed on the publication of
undergraduate
research papers.
BIOS is published four times a year: March,
May, September, and December.
Manuscripts of two types are considered for publication. Student
authored
undergraduate research articles in biology are reviewed by college and
university faculty or researchers. Faculty authored review articles and
historic articles of interest to biologist are also published.
Membership in
ßßß is not required for publication in BIOS.
However, only student
members receive a $25 stipend from the Society to defray preparation
and revision
expenses of papers accepted. If the paper receives a Brooks Award at a
district
or national convention within one year of the date of submission, the
stipend
is increased to $75.
Submissions
and/or questions should be
addressed to the Editor:
the main Tribeta webpage with instructions OR
Download
them here.
Benefits:
If you are a full tribeta member, you qualify for the $25 or $75
stipend AND you qualify to apply for UW's Tribeta Research Scholarship
(More info on UW Tribeta Scholarships coming soon)
