Timothy Shockley's Portfolio - Index

Welcome to my portfolio. Here is a record of the practical skills, experience, and products that I developed during my two years in the University of Washington's Information School's Master of Library and Information Science program, of which I attended from September 2006 until June 2008. Please follow the above links to view my accomplishments in specific areas of work and learning.

I am a long time Washington resident that has been working for the King County Library System since my mid-teens, and I have had an interest in public libraries and librarianship for most of my life. My specialty is providing library and information services to patrons with disabilities, as can be seen in my volunteer work with the University of Washington student group Disability Advocacy Student Alliance (DASA), my fieldwork with the Seattle Public Library's (SPL) Library Equal Access Program (LEAP), and my research and work in web accessibility. I have skills related to working with and assisting the disability population as well as technology skills relating to the usage of various types of adaptive equipment and creating and evaluating the accessibility of web sites. Post graduation, I intend to work for a public library, preferably in some role related to the disability population.
