Bird Cliff

St. Paul is a nesting site for many migratory birds, and a popular sightseeing spot for birders. These birds are local rather than migratory, but it is still a safe, protected place for them to raise their chicks. The black and white ones are murres, probably thick-billed (Uria lomvia). The all-black long-necked bird in the upper right of pictures 1-3 is probably a cormorant. The birds with the large orange bills are tufted puffins, Fratercula cirrhata.
