Longfellow Creek Restoration Work Party

Event Description:
Join EarthCorps and Seattle Parks and Recreation as we work to restore habitat along Longfellow Creek! Located in West Seattle, Longfellow Creek is one of only three natural waterways left within Seattle city limits. Salmon stopped using the creek in the 1930s due to pollution and blocked stream passage. The efforts of many community groups and volunteers made the return of the salmon possible in the 1990s. Now we are working to continue the improvement of conditions in the creek. Our projects will include the removal of invasive plants, maintenance of restoration sites, and planting of native plants in areas along Longfellow Creek.

Directions:
Take I-5 South to the West Seattle Bridge. Drive west and exit at Delridge Way. Heading south on Delridge, take a right at Brandon St. The work site is located on your right just past Greg Davis Park.

Carpooling: If you want to carpool, email Josh and meet at the HUB in front of the Engineering Library.
