A geological phenomenon turned prairie restoration site. One of the most spectacular places to work in Western Washington. The rolling mounds of Mima burst into flower mid spring, just the time I head out into the field to survey my sites. Imagine these hills and swales filled with the pale blue blush of Camas and sprinkled with Shooting Stars. I'm thrilled to crawl through the grasses in such a beautiful location conducting my surveys of germinants.

These beautiful flowers were just beginning to color up mid May as I moved north through the Puget Sound trough. Of course it was raining. I didn't mind. Being surrounded by fields of wild flowers beginning to bloom was blessing enough, even with the weather.
